The Northern Lights are such a natural beauty! They are unique to Canada, in the northern hemisphere, where at night you can see the you can see the vibrant colors dancing.

First Nations people have teachings and practices that symbolize the Northern Lights. These may vary from nation to nation. One of the teachings is that the Northern Lights are the spirits of the ancestors who celebrate life and remind us that we are all part of creation. Their dance forms a path for souls as they travel to the next world.

About the Indigenous Artist Trisha Pitura

Trisha Pitura is a creative force, mother, entrepreneur and co-owner of MINI TIPI. She is originally from Sudbury, Ontario and is a member of the Nipissing First Nation. A few years ago, she began to reconnect with her culture. Today, she is able to explore her identity as an Ojibwe woman through fabrics, creativity and our company, MINI TIPI.
